برعاية عطوفة مدير عام المدرسة النموذجية الاستاذ الدكتور محمد المومني استضافت المدرسة رئيسة نادي كتاب اللغة الانجليزية الدكتورة نانسي الدغمي من جامعة اليرموك / كلية الاداب ومجموعة من أعضاء النادي للمساهمة في تسليط الضوء على واحدة من القضايا المعاصرة في العصر الحديث وهي قضية ارتداء الحجاب.
قدمت للموضوع معلمة اللغة الانجليزية ايمان بواعنه من خلال طرحها لأهم المرتكزات التي تطمح من خلال هذا النقاش تسليط الضوء عليها حول ماهية الحجاب ؟ ماذا يعني لمن ترتديه؟ ماهية ونظرة المجتمع لارتداءه؟ ما الدافع لارتداءه؟ واخيرا نظرة الاخر للفتاه المحجبة.
ومن جانبها فقد عرفت الدكتورة نانسي الدغمي بنادي كتاب اللغة الانجليزية والانشطة التي يقوم بها النادي واهتمامات منتسبي ومنتسبات النادي واهمية الشراكة والتفاعل مع مكونات المجتمع المحلي.
وفيما يخص موضوع الجلسة فقد بينت الدكتورة الدغمي من خلال الافكارالتي تم مناقشتها ان موضوع الحجاب من القضايا المعروفة على مستوى العالم كون الحجاب يمثل رمزية لمن يرتدينه خاصة في اطار المجتمعات المسلمة فهو هوية البنت المحجبة لدى المجتمعات والثقافات الاخرى .
دار نقاش ثري حول مقال نوايا محجبة وقضية ارتداء الحجاب واسس تشكل القناعة للفتاة المسلمة بارتداءه باعتباره جزء من ثقافتنا كعرب مسلمين وصولا لأن يصبح صورة رمزية لرسالتنا الى المجتمعات الاخرى .
وفي ختام الجلسة شكر عطوفة مدير عام المدرسة الاستاذ الدكتور محمد المومني رئيسة نادي الكتاب الدكتورة نانسي الدغمي واعضاء النادي على اهتمامهم ومشاركتهم المدرسة النموذجية في انشطتها كما شكر معلمة اللغة الانجليزية المتميزة ايمان بواعنه واشرافهاعلى تنسيق واختيارهذا النشاط القيم لا سيما انه استهدف مجموعة من بناتنا طالبات الصفوف العاشر والتاسع والثامن .
A Discussion Session in English about "Veiled Intentions" by Maysan Haidar
Under the kind patronage of the General Principal of YU Model School, Prof. Muhammad Al-Momani, the school hosted the Chairperson of the English Book Club (EBC), Dr. Nancy Al-Doghmi, and a group of the club (EBC) members from Yarmouk University to contribute to a discussion of one of the contemporary issues in the modern era: the issue of wearing hijab.
The teacher of English Language, Eman Bawa'neh, presented the topic by suggesting a number of important questions about wearing the hijab such as ‘what is hijab? What does the hijab represent? What is society's view of wearing hijab? What are the reasons or motives behind wearing hijab? What are the students’ and others’ views on hijab?’
For her part, Dr. Nancy Al-Doghmi introduced the English Book Club (EBC) and the different activities carried out by the club, the interests of the club's members and the importance of partnership and interaction with the components of the local community.
With regard to the topic of the session, Dr. Al-Doghmi explained through the ideas that were discussed that the issue of hijab is one of the well-known issues in the world, because hijab represents a symbol for those who wear it, especially in Muslim societies, as it is the identity of the veiled or hijabi girl as she presents herself to other societies and cultures.
A rich discussion followed between the EBC members and the students about the article “veiled intentions”, the issue of wearing hijab, and the foundations of forming the conviction of the Muslim girl to wear it as part of our culture as Arab and Muslims, leading to it becoming a symbolic image of our message to other societies.
At the end of the session, the General principal of the School, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Momani, has thanked the Chairperson of the English Book Club (EBC), Dr. Nancy Al-Doghmi, and the club members for their interest and collaboration with the Model School and their participation in its different activities. He also thanked the distinguished teacher of English Language, Eman Bawa’neh, for supervising and coordinating this valuable activity, especially as it targeted a group of our daughters, the female students from the tenth, ninth, and eighth grades.
