Tasks of the Councils Division:

• Establishing faculties, departments, programs and specializations, merging or eliminating them, and establishing professorial chairs.
• Creating Academic disciplines.
• Determining the number of accepted students and university fees.
• Appointing faculty members, managing their transferring, promotions, vacations, confirming them in their positions, and terminating their services.
• Delegating and sending scholarships to obtain Academic degrees.
• Granting Academic and honorary degrees.
• Authorizing of the university calendar.
• Considering draft regulations and instructions.
• Approving the scientific, technological and cultural cooperation agreements between the university and its counterparts outside the Kingdom.
• Accepting gifts and grants, and approving central tenders which have validity.
