The President of Yarmouk University, Prof. Zeidan Kafafi had a meeting with Dr. Ivano Patrick and Dr. Jean-Michel Chappeau from the French University of Sorbonne, and Dr. Gerald Bayer from the French University of Angers, where ways to enhance cooperation between the three universities were discussed. Kafafi praised the depth of relations that bring together Yarmouk at the French embassy in Amman as well as the various French universities, institutes, and educational institutions. He expressed Yarmouk's readiness to discuss the mechanisms for establishing a joint program in hotel management with these two prestigious universities, as such a join program will attract a number of faculty members from France to participate in teaching courses for the students of the program. He added that Yarmouk seeks with all its cadres to overcome obstacles of creating international programs that meet the aspirations of Jordanian and Arab youth. He then added that this program will contribute effectively to upgrading the hotel sector in Jordan and improving hotel services in the country.
In return, the members of the delegation expressed the importance of establishing such a joint program with Yarmouk University, which has a distinguished scientific reputation in the field of tourism and archeology. They explained that signing a cooperation agreement in this regard is beneficial for the involving parties. However, the meeting was attended by the dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Prof. Muhammad Al-Shannaq, the dean of scientific research, Prof. Qassem Al-Hammouri, the director of the Department of International Relations and Projects, Dr. Mowaffaq Al-Atoum, and the director of Public Relations and Media Department, Mr. Mukhlis Al-Abeini.
