He also stressed Yarmouk’s keenness to support its students and motivate them to benefit from the knowledge they acquire during their university career. He declared that one of the university's main purposes is to guide students in conducting scientific research that deals with issues and topics concerned with youth and the local community as a whole, and to motivate them to carry out applied scientific research that has effective role in finding solutions to the problems suffered by the Society.
The head of the Supreme Committee supervising the award and the head of the Center for Middle East Studies, Jawad Al-Hamad, announced during the press conference that the first and third awards were withheld because none of the competing students qualified for them according to the criteria and provisions stipulated in the award system. Then he pointed out that the twenty-first session of the award presented 19 research titles within the three usual frameworks: the local, the Arab-Islamic, and the international, and that the winning researches will be published in refereed journals.
