Under the patronage of Prof. Anis Khasawneh, the Vice President for Humanities and Administrative Affairs, the Language Center hosted the Spelling Bee Competition for students of public and private schools in Irbid Governorate.
The competition was organized by Al-Mallah Center for the Development of Children's Skills and was judged by a jury made of Dr. Amal Al-Natour, Dr. Dima Hijazi, and Dr. Safa Al-Sherida from Yarmouk University's Language Center, Dr. Rula Abdul Rahim Naji from the University of Science and Technology, Dr. Nidal Al-Ta'ani, an IT expert in the Arab World, and Fathi Al-Balawi, the Director of the School of Farah Educational Academy. Furthermore, the competition was attended by a great number of school students from grades 1 to 6, the Director of Al-Mallah Center for the Development of Children's Skills, and a number of officials from Yarmouk University and its Language Center.
During the gathering, Dr. Lamia Hammad, the Director of the Language Center, highlighted the keen efforts of the Center to hosting such competitions and eventually reflecting the University's significant role in serving the various institutions of the community and stimulating school students to think creatively and develop their language skills in Arabic and English.
