The school, which was established in 1979/1980, acts in accordance with particular instructions and aims at providing educational services for children of both Yarmouk University staff and the staff of Jordan University of Science and Technology, as well as children from the local community, following advanced educational programs that keep pace with educational developments in a proper educational environment encouraging creativity, involvement, and positive tendencies and values. In addition, the school provides suitable opportunities for faculty members and students of the university to conduct educational studies and field practice consistent with the benefit of the school students.

This year, the school has more than two thousand and four hundred students distributed over four stages with seventy-six sections from kindergarten (KG) to grade 12, and taught by more than one hundred and eighty teachers in various scientific disciplines.

The school administration, represented by the General Director and assistant directors, is responsible for the school supervision and educational policy-making.
